Cupping Therapy
About
Cupping therapy is an ancient healing practice used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, as well as in Middle Eastern, Egyptian, and Greek traditions. It involves placing cups on the skin and creating suction, which draws the skin and superficial muscle layer into the cup. This is believed to mobilize blood flow, promote healing, and release tension in the muscles and fascia.
Modern cupping uses glass, silicone, or plastic cups and can be static or dynamic (sliding across the skin).
Benefits
Cupping therapy relieves muscle tension and pain, improves circulation and lymphatic drainage, supports respiratory health by loosening chest congestion, aids detoxification, accelerates athletic recovery, reduces inflammation, and promotes relaxation. It is widely used by athletes and has gained mainstream popularity for sports recovery.
