About

Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis — a state of focused attention and heightened suggestibility — as a therapeutic tool. During hypnosis, the conscious mind becomes relaxed while the subconscious mind becomes more open to positive therapeutic suggestions. Clinical hypnotherapists use this state to help clients address a wide range of psychological and physical issues.

Hypnotherapy is distinct from stage hypnosis and is practiced by trained health professionals. It can be integrated with psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and other modalities.

Benefits

Hypnotherapy is effective for phobias, anxiety, and panic disorders, smoking cessation and other habit change, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), chronic pain management, sleep disorders, and performance enhancement. It reduces anxiety in medical and dental procedures and supports healing from trauma and PTSD.
